Dutch Wonderland Voted Among Top 5 Best Children's Parks in the World
(Lancaster, PA) – For the second year in a row, Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park was voted among the Top 5 Best Children's Parks in the world in Amusement Today's 2009 Golden Ticket Awards. This is the fifth time that Dutch Wonderland has placed in the Top 5 Best Children's Parks in the World category.
According to Amusement Today, Golden Ticket Awards recognize parks that "strive for excellence, creativity and a quality product for each of their guests." Dutch Wonderland was picked from among many
top national and international children's parks.
The winners of the coveted Golden Ticket Awards are chosen from ballots submitted to Amusement Today by hundreds the "most experienced and well-travelled amusement park enthusiasts." This panel of experts is divided into five regions, four in the United States and one international region.
"Dutch Wonderland is honored to be voted among the Top 5 Best Children's Parks again this year," said Rick Stammel, the Park's general manager. "Along with our own guest surveys that we conduct throughout the summer, the results of the surveys in the Golden Ticket Awards provide feedback that lets us know that we're right on target with being 'A Kingdom for Kids.' "
The Clark family of Lancaster, Pa., opened Dutch Wonderland in 1963 with just four rides. Today the Park has grown to encompass more than 30 rides on 48 acres of lush landscape. In 2001 Hershey Entertainment & Resorts purchased Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Entertainment Complex.
