Dutch Wonderland Reveals Gingerbread House Contest Winners
Lancaster Career & Technology Center Wins Top Prize
(Lancaster, PA) – Visitors to Dutch Winter Wonderland cast more than 2,000 votes in the event's seventh Gingerbread House Contest. The eight-week contest let Park guests vote for their favorite edible creation.
The Grand Prize – a two-night stay at The Hotel Hershey, a golf package at Hershey Links, four Hersheypark tickets, four Dutch Wonderland tickets, four Dutch Apple Dinner Theater tickets, a $50 gift certificate to The Spa At The Hotel Hershey, and a party for 10 at Laserdome in Manheim – went to the Lancaster Career & Technology Center for their impressive re-creation of the iconic Dutch Wonderland castle.
Second prize – a one-night stay at The Hotel Hershey, four Hersheypark tickets, four Dutch Wonderland tickets, a $50 gift certificate to The Spa At The Hotel Hershey, and a $50 gift certificate to the Laserdome – went to the team from Bird-in-Hand Bakery for their Shrek Christmas. The design featured Shrek and his friends created out of marzipan.
Third place – a one-night stay at Hershey Lodge, four Hersheypark tickets, four Dutch Wonderland tickets, and a $50 gift certificate to the Laserdome – went to the team from the Hans Herr House in Lancaster.
A popular attraction for Dutch Winter Wonderland guests, the annual Gingerbread House Contest requires that each scene have dimensions no larger than 3 feet by 3 feet and be constructed entirely of edible content. This year's competition featured 13 entries.
