Dutch Winter Wonderland Celebrates the Holidays

(Lancaster, PA) – Grab the mittens and coats and head to Dutch Winter Wonderland! For eight weeks, Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park will be magically transformed into Dutch Winter Wonderland.

Opening for its sixth season on Friday, November 16 at 5 p.m., this seasonal event features thousands of twinkling lights plus outdoor and indoor activities that include rides, games, shows, a Polar Playground, visits with Santa, storytelling with the Princess and Knight of Dutch Wonderland, gift shopping, and gingerbread house contest judging. Guests also can meet two of Santa's reindeer-in-training.

Grand opening evening will feature a holiday toy drive benefiting the Lancaster Boys and Girls Club program "Holiday Toys for Lancaster Girls and Boys." Every guest who brings a new, unwrapped toy donation on November 16 between 5 and 9 p.m. will receive one free admission to Dutch Winter Wonderland.

Every Friday night, families can enjoy the Little Cherubs Holiday Concert series from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Storytime Corner. Local school and church choirs will lead guests in such holiday carols as "Joy to the World," "Frosty the Snowman," "Rudolph the Red- Nosed Reindeer" and more.

A new stage show also will debut this year. "Santa's Yuletide Elfabet" will teach children the importance of being a good friend. Two loveable elves help each other learn the "elf"abet through fun songs and stories.

Little knights and princesses can do their own holiday shopping for Mom, Dad, grandparents and other loved ones in a special kids-only section of the Castle Gift Shop. Santa's Helpers will be available to help children with their shopping and they also will wrap their selections at no charge.

Dutch Winter Wonderland is open Friday through Sunday beginning November 16 through December 30. Hours are Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 4 to 9 p.m. Dutch Winter Wonderland is also open on Wednesday, December 26 and Thursday, December 27 from 5 to 9 p.m. Admission is $8.95 per person and parking is free.
