Nov. 16, 2016 (Lancaster, PA) – Dutch Wonderland and S&S - Sansei Technologies unveiled the vehicle for the new suspended roller coaster, Merlin’s Mayhem, at the 2016 International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) expo. IAAPA is the largest global conference and trade show for the attraction industry. Over 30,000 attraction industry professionals visit each year to familiarize themselves with competition, see up-and-coming attractions, and recognize and reward their organization’s supervisors, managers, and leaders. Tuesday’s audience was shown a computer animated point of view video featuring lifelike sound and water effects before the giant vehicle structure was unveiled.
Dutch Wonderland’s new ride vehicles seat 20 passengers and feature a built-in audio surround system aboard the side-by-side suspended seats. Adorned with gold and cobalt detailing and structures, the ride will coordinate with the color scheme of the journey’s magical companion, Merlin, the friendly magician. Featuring a 60 foot rise and many twists and turns, Merlin’s Mayhem will thrill young and old alike.
Dutch Wonderland’s General Manager, Rick Stammel states, "The Dutch Wonderland team is very excited to bring Merlin's Mayhem to A Kingdom for Kids! The addition of this coaster reinforces our commitment to the families that visit the park. We are honored to partner with S&S - Sansei Technologies to make it a reality."
Scheduled to open in 2017, Merlin’s Mayhem will take guests through the story between Merlin and a curious dragon, Mayhem. During one of Merlin’s magic tricks, Mayhem seems to have flown off into Dutch Wonderland and disappeared. Guests are asked to join Merlin on a quest to find his lost dragon.
